Abstract

A field experiment on the evaluation of botanical pesticides against fruit fly in muskmelon was conducted during the summer season of 2023 at the Horticultural Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar. Among different treatments, cow urine + neem leaf extract @ 20 + 10 percent (4.66% and 3.91%) and cow urine + custard apple leaf extract @ 20 + 10 percent (4.91% and 4.15%) were effective against melon fruit fly with minimum fruit infestation based on number and weight basis, respectively and recorded higher fruit yield (95.24 and 93.62q/ha, respectively) in muskmelon.
