Abstract
Chronic bone infections, such as chronic osteomyelitis or fracture-related infections, remain a difficult-to-treat disease This is particularly true for low-income countries (LIC) with only very limited access to health care for patients. A high number of chronic bone infection patients in LIC are children and young adults. We report a rare type of sequestrum from a femur of chronic osteomyelitis. The treatment approach was a thorough wound debridement and sequestrectomy, and commencement of culture-directed antibiotics.
