Optimizing nutrient content and uptake in groundnut through integrated nutrient management under North Gujarat conditions

Abstract

The field experiments were conducted during kharif 2022 and 2023 at the Agronomy Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar, Banaskantha, Gujarat to study the effect of integrated nutrient management on nutrient content and uptake of groundnut under North Gujarat conditions. The experiment laid out in randomized block design with five treatments viz., T1: 100% RDF, T2: 75% RDF + FYM 5 t ha-1, T3: 75% RDF + Vermicompost 2 t ha-1, T4: 50% RDF + FYM 5 t ha-1 + Rhizobium + PSB and T5: 50% RDF + Vermicompost 2 t ha-1 + Rhizobium + PSB. Results revealed that application of 75% RDF + Vermicompost 2 t ha-1 to groundnut crop recorded significantly higher nitrogen (3.552%, 0.886%, 1.758%) and phosphorus (0.493%, 0.149%, 0.216%) content in kernel, shell and haulm, respectively. Whereas application of 75% RDF + Vermicompost 2 t ha-1 gave significantly higher total nitrogen (130.7 kg ha-1), phosphorus (17.25 kg ha-1), potassium (46.15 kg ha-1) and sulphur (14.23 kg ha-1) uptake by groundnut crop.
