Influence of different bio-fertilizers on survivability of in-vitro raised banana cv. Grand Naine (G-9) plantlets
Abstract
The present experiment entitled “Influence of different bio-fertilizers on survivability of in-vitro raised banana cv. Grand Naine (G-9) plantlets” was carried out during the month of February-May, 2023 at the Poly house and Net house, Tissue Culture Laboratory, College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.). The investigation was carried out in Completely Randomized design in which 8 treatments were replicated thrice, with the objectives to study the effect of various bio-fertilizers on morpho-physiological traits and on survival percentage of tissue cultured banana saplings. In this study the banana saplings were subjected to 8 different treatments during primary hardening as well as secondary hardening i.e., Azotobacter (T1), Azospirillum (T2), PSB (T3), KSB (T4), ZSB (T5), Azotobacter + PSB + KSB + ZSB (T6) and Azospirillum + PSB + KSB + ZSB (T7) along with control (T0). These treatments were applied @5% of media and @ 1% of media during primary and secondary hardening, respectively. The data related to survival attributes of banana saplings like success percentage (%), number of successful saplings and mortality percentage (%) were recorded at 28 DAT under primary hardening and at 60 DAT under secondary hardening. The most effective treatment was T6 which was Azotobacter + PSB + KSB + ZSB in success percentage (%), number of successful saplings and mortality percentage (%) was (97.33%), ( 48.67) and (2.67%) in primary hardening; (95.17%), (46.33) and (4.78%) in secondary hardening.
