Efficacy of selected phyto - extracts against powdery mildew (Erysiphe polygoni DC) of black gram (Vigna mungo L)
Abstract
The study was conducted during the Kharif season 2022 at the Central Research Field, Department of Plant Pathology, SHUATS, Prayagraj, U.P. to evaluate the efficacy of selected phyto-extracts against powdery mildew (Erysiphe polygoni DC) of black gram (Vigna mungo L.). Neem leaf extract @10% as foliar spray was most effective treatment and exhibited minimum disease intensity (%) followed by T1- Ginger rhizome extract @10%, T2- Garlic bulb extract @10%, T4- Onion bulb extract @10% and T5- Tulsi leaf extract @10% as compared to treated check T6- Dinocap 46% EC @ 0.1% and untreated check- T0. Neem leaf extract also recorded significant increase in plant height (cm), number of pods, yield (q/ha) and cost benefit ratio.
