Bio-efficacy of Trichoderma spp. isolates against collar rot pathogen of chickpea in-vitro

Abstract

The biological control of soil-borne pathogens like Sclerotium rolfsii, which causes devastating diseases in various crops, is crucial for sustainable agriculture. The study evaluates the efficacy of seven different Trichoderma species in inhibiting the mycelial growth of Sclerotium rolfsii using dual culture and culture filtrate methods. The treatments included T. ovalisporum, T. asperellum1, T. pseudokoningii, T. longibrachiatum, T. harzianum1, T. asperellum2, and T. harzianum2. The findings reveal a varied degree of inhibition across different Trichoderma species, suggesting their potential use in integrated disease management programs.
