Abstract

The present study entitled “Studies on the effect of IBA and different bio growth regulators on propagation of bougainvillea (B. spectabilis L.)” was carried out at Centre of Excellence and protected cultivation and precision farming, CoA, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) during the year 2023-2024 in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 13 treatment combinations along with 3 replications. All the treatments studied recorded superior vegetative, rooting and flowering attributes except control. The results showed that cuttings treated with vermiwash 15% significantly influenced the vegetative, rooting and flowering characters of bougainvillea. The maximum rooting percentage (96.66%), number of roots (24.33) per cutting and length (28.86 cm) of longest root per cutting were observed under cutting treated with vermiwash 15%. All vegetative characters, viz. shoot height (48.19 cm), plant spread (44.53 cm), number of leaves (97.20) per plant and number of shoots (3.0) per plant were recorded maximum under cutting treated with vermiwash 15%. Similarly, flowering attributes, viz. minimum number of days (71.33 days) to flower initiation and 50% flowering (83.66 days) were recorded under cutting treated with 15% vermiwash. Study indicated that 15% vermiwash are considered for obtaining better root growth, vegetative, and flowering parameters.
