Efficacy of ready-mix insecticide under different pH regims against leaf hopper (Amarasca biguttula biguttula) of okra
Abstract
The present investigation was carried out in factorial randomized block design (FRBD) during kharif 2023 at experimental site of Department of Vegetables Science, College of Horticulture, Akola (MH). Cumulative effect of ready-mix insecticides against leaf hopper of okra revealed that in Factor A (Insecticides) Spirotetramat 11.01 + Imidacloprid 11.01 SC was most effective insecticide for management of leafhopper. Followed by Chlorantraniliprole 8.8 + Thiamethoxam 17.5 W/W and Thiamethoxam 12.6 + Lambda- cyhalothrin 9.5 ZC. In Factor B (water ph level), The population leafhopper was significantly reduced in the treatment in which insecticides solution was prepared in acidic pH and it was mostly at par with neutral pH. The population was found highest in alkaline pH water. In case of interaction effect, cumulative effect mean was significant. Minimum leafhopper population was observed in Spirotetramat 11.01 + Imidacloprid 11.01 SC in acidic water (3.32 / 3 leaves) and it was at par with Spirotetramat 11.01 + Imidacloprid 11.01 SC in neutral water (3.44 / 3 leaves), followed by Chlorantraniliprole 8.8 + Thiamethoxam 17.5 W/W in acidic water (4.69 / 3 leaves), Chlorantraniliprole 8.8 + Thiamethoxam 17.5 W/W in neutral water (4.69. / 3 leaves), Spirotetramat 11.01 + Imidacloprid 11.01 SC in alkaline water (4.75 / 3 leaves), Thiamethoxam 12.6 + Lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5 ZC in acidic water (4.89 / 3 leaves), Thiamethoxam 12.6 + Lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5 ZC in neutral water (5.14 / 3 leaves), Chlorantraniliprole 8.8 + Thiamethoxam 17.5 W/W in alkaline water (5.41 / 3 leaves), whereas Thiamethoxam 12.6 + Lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5 ZC in alkaline water (6.00 / 3 leaves) recorded maximum population leaf hopper.
