International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(10) · pp. 1488–1492

Abstract

Investigations were carried out at Agronomy Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture, S. D. Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar during kharif, 2022-23 and 2023-24 for screening of different varieties/genotypes for sucking pests of pigeonpea. Out of fifteen pigeonpea varieties/genotypes, the genotype SKNP 224 recorded significantly minimum 2.19 aphid per 10 cm shoot and 4.61 thrips per flower. However, significantly lowest 3.87 leaf hopper per 3 leaves was noticed on the SKNP 1715. The pod bug population indicated significantly minimum (2.16 pod bug/plant) on genotype SKNP 207. Significantly highest (1122 kg/ha) seed yield was recorded on SKNP 224 and was at par with genotypes, SKNP 207 (1082 kg/ha) and SKNP 1608 (1056 kg/ha).
