Abstract

A diallel set of 6 parents and their 15 F1 were studied fourteen characters to determine combining ability analysis. The analysis of variance revealed significant variation among the genotypes for all the characters. Based on general combining ability effects, the parents KKVVM-18 and KKVVM-20 were identified as good general combiners. The most promising specific combiners for yield and yield components were KKVVM-13 X KKVVM-20, KKVVM-9 X KKVVM-20 and KKVVM-10 X KKVVM-13.
