Influence of biofertilizers and inorganic fertilizers on herbage and oil yield of patchouli (Pogostemon cablin benth) and soil fertility in lateritic soils of Konkan
Abstract
A field experiment was conducted to study the influence of biofertilizers and inorganic fertilizers on herbage and oil yield of patchouli (Pogostemon cablin benth) and soil fertility in lateritic soils of Konkan in Randomized Block Design comprising nine treatments combinations and three replications at College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri during 2023-24. Significant improvement in green and dry herbage yield and oil yield and available NPK was recorded with the sole and combine application of nutrients through biofertilizers along with RDF. The result revealed that the soil application of recommended dose of fertilizers (150:50:50 kg ha-1) in combination with three biofertilizers Azotobacter + PSB + KSB recorded the maximum green and dry herbage yield (t ha-1) and oil yield (kg ha-1) of patchouli at the harvest with significant increase in organic carbon, available NPK in the soil.
