Assessing entrepreneurial behavior in the dairy sector: A study in Jabalpur district
Abstract
Entrepreneurial behavior encompasses an individual’s ability to take risks, coordinate activities, make informed decisions, and implement innovative ideas to enhance enterprise profitability. This study examines the entrepreneurial behavior of dairy farmers in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, focusing on five critical components: innovativeness, decision-making ability, risk orientation, information-seeking behavior, and cosmopoliteness. The findings reveal that among trained dairy farmers, the majority demonstrated medium levels of entrepreneurial behavior, followed by high and low levels. Similarly, more than half of the untrained dairy farmers exhibited medium entrepreneurial behavior, with fewer displaying low and high levels. These insights highlight the varying degrees of entrepreneurial aptitude among dairy farmers, influenced by training and other factors.
