Synthesis of silver nanoparticles from mango pulp and analysis of its antioxidant property

Abstract

Nanotechnology is the creation and utilization of materials, devices, and systems through the control of matter on the nanometer-length scale. The size of nanomaterials is similar to that of most biological molecules and structures; therefore, nanomaterials can be useful for both in vivo and in vitro biomedical research and applications. The nanoparticles of silver showed high antimicrobial and antioxidant activity. All major pharmaceutical companies are currently investing significantly in the development of medicines with a nanotechnology component. This has promoted research in the well known activity of silver nanoparticles. The antioxidant activity of synthesized nanoparticles was evaluated performing DPPH assay and the photosynthesized nanoparticle also possesses antioxidant potentials. Silver particles have tremendous applications in the field of diagnostics and therapeutics. To this context, the surface coating of plant metabolite constituents has great potentials. Therefore, the present work has been undertaken to synthesize the AgNPs using mango pulp, to characterize and access their antioxidant properties. Silver nanoparticles were successfully synthesized from aqueous silver nitrate through a simple green route using the extract of Mango pulp.
