Abstract

Background: Dry eye disease (DED) is one of the most frequently established diagnosis in ophthalmology. Dry eye is heterogeneous, multifactorial disease characterized by loss of homeostasis of the tear film accompanied by combination of ocular symptoms in which tear film instability and hyperosmolarity, ocular surface inflammation, damage and neurosensory abnormalities play etiological role.
