A case of psoriasis treated by homeopathy

Abstract

Homeopathy is based on the principle of 'Similia similibus curantur,' meaning that a substance causing symptoms in a healthy person can cure similar symptoms in a sick person. Revealed by Hahnemann, homeopathy is widely known and used globally, with its prevalence in general practice ranging from 20-85% according to literature, and up to 90% in veterinary practice. Homeopathy is considered a holistic and individualized therapy method as it views the individual as a whole rather than dividing by organs and systems. Psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin disorder, not only affects the skin but also has a significant psychological impact on patients, potentially leading to depression. Epidemiological studies suggest it affects 2-3% of the population. Effective treatment of psoriasis must address physical, emotional, and psychological aspects, which might explain the limited effectiveness of conventional therapies. This case demonstrates that classical homeopathy offers a promising, natural, and side-effect-free therapeutic alternative, which can also be combined with conventional drugs when necessary.
