Effect of farming practices on growth, yield and quality of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) under soybean-wheat cropping sequence

Abstract

The present investigations on “Effect of farming practices on growth, yield and quality of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) under soybean-wheat cropping sequence” was carried out at Agronomy farm, College of Agriculture, Pune, Maharashtra conducted during rabi 2023-24. The findings showed that the maximum mean grain (43.16 q-1) and stover (59.56 q-1) yields of wheat were obtained using climate-resilient farming. These yields were at par with MPKV recommended package of practices and significantly superior over other farming practices. The data regarding N, P and K content (%) in grain and straw of wheat was not altered significantly by different However, the highest N, P and K content were recorded in treatment (T5) i.e. climate-resilient farming respectively. Whereas, the lowest NPK content was recorded in treatment (T4) i.e. natural farming. The highest microbial count and micronutrient availability was found in treatment (T3) i.e. organic farming.
