APML or not APML: A diagnostic conundrum

Abstract

Acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APML) is a malignancy with a high cure rate. However, delay in diagnosis or treatment can result in morbidity and mortality to the patient. APML has characteristic clinical and molecular features. In this genomic era, morphology is still crucial to direct diagnostic algorithms.
