Evaluation of insecticide modules against pod borer complex in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L.)

Abstract

An investigation was undertaken to evaluate different insecticide modules against pod borer complex in pigeonpea at the Native Place, Maregaon, District Yavatmal. The performance of each insecticide module was judged on the basis of larval incidence, pod damade, grain damage and yield. Considering the effectiveness of various insecticide modules in recording lowest larval population of H. armigera and E. atomosa (0.26 and 0.29 larvae/plant respectively) and percent pod damage (5.07%) and grain damage (2.00%) due to lepidopteran borer (H. armigera, E. atomosa) at harvest was registered in module M1 followed by module M2. Whereas, in the case of pod fly, module M2 recorded lowest larval population (0.35 larvae/10 pods) and lowest percent pod (4.8%) and grain damage (4.33%) at harvest. followed by module M1 which were mostly found at par with each other.
