International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(10) · pp. 10–13

Abstract

A research experiment entitled “Study on less susceptible genotype against sorghum shoot fly (Atherigona soccata Rondani” was carried out in a Randomized Block Design at the research field Department of Agriculture Sciences, IES University, Bhopal (MP). In this experiment nineteen advanced grain sorghum genotype along with two resistance checks, two susceptible checks and one local check were studied. It was revealed by observation that the infestation of shoot fly was recorded minimum in both resistance check IS 18551 and IS 2205 with 3.23 and 1.7 eggs per five plants at 14 DAE , 9.87% and 13.5% shoot fly dead hearts at 28 DAE. The maximum infestation recorded in Swarna with (6.34) and DJ 6514 (6.28) eggs per 5 plants, DJ-6514 (53.73) and Swarna (53.90) dead heart %.
