Evaluation of turmeric genotypes for growth, yield and phyto-chemical parameters

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(10) · pp. 773–776

Abstract

Study was conducted for growth, yield and phyto-chemical parameters, during 2023-24 at the Instructional Farm of the Department of Vegetable Science, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. The objective was to identify superior turmeric genotypes based on growth, yield, and phyto-chemical characteristics. A Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications was employed, assessing seventeen turmeric genotypes alongside a control, PDKV Waigaon. The results indicated that genotypes PWTM-19, PWTM-11, PWTM-8, PWTM-14, AKTL-8, AKTL-16, and AKTL-19 exhibited exceptional agronomic traits and high phyto-chemical levels, demonstrating their potential for enhanced turmeric production.
