Effect of certain treatment protocols for endometritis on biochemical parameters of uterine flushing

Abstract

The present investigation utilized 621 crossbred dairy cows presented for artificial insemination at Veterinary Clinical Service Complex (VCSC), Yelahanka and in an organized dairy farm near Veterinary College, Bangalore. The investigation was planned to assess biochemical variation of uterine flushing of normal and endometritis affected cows. Further, Effect of different treatment protocols on biochemical parameters of the uterine flushing namely the pH, alkaline phosphatase and protein was also studied by comparing their respective levels before and after treatment for endometritis. The results indicated significant decrease of pH, alkaline phosphatase activity and total protein in the uterine flushing following treatment for endometritis.
