Effect of plant growth regulators on growth, yield and quality of cluster bean

Abstract

An experiment was carried out at the Research farm of Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India during the summer season of 2023-2024 to study the “Effect of plant growth regulators on growth, yield and quality of cluster bean”. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with seven treatments and three replications. The different treatment combinations were, T1 – Control (water spray), T2 - GA3 50 ppm, T3 - GA3 100 ppm, T4 - GA3 150 ppm, T5 - NAA 50 ppm, T6 - NAA 100 ppm, T7 - NAA 150 ppm. Among the growth parameters such as plant height, number of branches plant-1, number of leaves plant-1 treatment GA3 150 ppm (T4) was found best in statistical analysis and also for yield parameters such as number of tender pods plant-1, weight of pod, yield plant-1, yield plot-1, yield hectare-1 treatment GA3 150 ppm (T4) was found significantly superior among all the other treatments which produced highest yield. Among the quality parameters such as pod length and pod width treatment GA3 150 ppm (T4) was found best for enhance the quality of pods.
