Evaluate the requirement of mulberry leaf for the development of late age silkworm and nutrient status of seri-waste
Abstract
The Experiments carried out the “Evaluate the Requirement of Mulberry Leaf for the Development of Late Age Silkworm and Nutrient Status of Seri-Waste." The experiment was conducted at Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, Parbhani during the month July-August 2022. The disease free layings of FC1xFC2 bivoltine silkworm were used in the investigation. The laboratory experiment was conducted in completely randomized design with ten treatments and four replications. One hundred larvae were reared in each replication. The data of nutrient analysis of silkworm litter revealed that highest nitrogen percentage of 2.14%, phosphorus 0.78%, potash 1.63%, calcium 1.58%, magnesium 0.64%, sulphur 0.29% , zinc 84.7 ppm, iron 1237 ppm, manganese 507.5 ppm and copper 61.6 ppm in the litter of silkworm which are treated with Serimore. The results revealed that, treatment of fifth instar bivoltine silkworm larvae with growth regulator Serimore at the rate 3.5 ml per liter of water during the onset of fifth instar, and administration of folic acid at 200ppm has improved the growth and economic parameters of bivoltine silkworm. Treatment of Sampoorna at the rate of 7.5 ml/l has significantly reduced larval duration and ingesta, but has negative impact on economic parameters of silkworm at early treatments. Seri waste contains more amounts of plant nutrients like macro and micro nutrients which contribute to increased production. The seriwaste can be used in the field crop production to increase their yield and quality of the agricultural crops and products.
