Incidence of leaf miner and its correlation with weather parameters

Abstract

Investigations on incidence of citrus leaf miner, Phyllocnistis citrella infesting Nagpur mandarin were carried out in nursery at open field condition was at Centre of Excellence for Citrus (Indo-Israel Project) Bharat Nagar, Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur during 2024. In an experimental plot observation on 50 plants were recorded at 7 days interval and incidence of citrus leaf miner were correlated with weather parameters. The results revealed that, the incidence of leaf miner was initiated from 10th meteorological week (MW) i.e. first week of March with 2.83 percent leaves infestation and gradually attained peak infestation at 18th MW (22.01%) i.e. last week of April. Furthermore, the fluctuations in the incidence of citrus leaf miner were noticed and it gradually decreased from 19th MW (18.43%) i.e. first week of May and the least incidence was observed at 24th MW (9.92%) i.e. second week of June. The correlation co-efficient analysis results revealed that, maximum temperature (r= 0.684) showed highly significant positive correlation with citrus leaf miner at 1% significant level and minimum temperature (r= 0.582) and bright sunshine hours (r= 0.567) showed significantly positive correlation with incidence citrus leaf miner at 5% significant level.
