Yield and yield contributing traits of long grain aromatic rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Abstract
An experiment was carried out in field of Agriculture Research Station, Sindewahi, district Chandrapur, Maharashtra, India during the kharif season of 2023-2024 to study the “Yield and yield attributing parameters of long grain aromatic rice (Oryza sativa L.)". The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with eight treatments viz., Jayprakash, Mohara, Bhandara chinoor, Varsha, Annapurna, Bhogawati, Indrayani and SKL-7 (ch) and three. The results of the study revealed that the Rice genotype Bhandara chinoor recorded highest grain yield (4380 kg ha-1). The highest yield of Bhandara chinoor was due to yield and yield contributing characters viz., significantly highest number of effective tillers m-2, significantly highest weight of grains planicle-1 (g), significantly highest grain yield plant-1 (g) and significantly highest harvest index.
