Abstract

The field experiment was under taken to evaluate the efficacy of different seven treatments of insecticides viz. Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG 30 ml, Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG 40 ml, Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG 50 ml, Spiromesifen 22.90% SC 8 ml, Sulphur 80% WP 41.73 g, Hexythiazox 05.45% w/w EC 10 ml and Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lamba cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC 2.5 ml against major insect pests of brinjal during Rabi season 2023-2024.the experiment was conducted at Department of Entomology, VNMKV., Parbhani. The results revealed that, Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG was most superior in minimizing sucking pests i.e. Aphid (Aphis gossypii) population of 1.18 aphids/3 leaves ), Leaf hopper (A. bigutulla bigutulla),and whitefly (B. tabaci) population of 1.13 whiteflies/3 leaves ) and it was found at par with Thiamethoxam 12.6 + Lamda cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC and Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG. Other treatments found significantly superior over untreated control. As regards brinjal shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee) infestation, Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG 50 ml, recorded lowest shoot infestation i.e. 1.20 percent. Which was at par with Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lamda cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC recorded and Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG, followed by Hexythiazox 05.45% w/w EC (2.38 percent), Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG (2.52 percent), Sulphur 80% WP 41.73 g, Spiromesifen 22.90% SC 8 ml and it was significantly superior to reduce percent shoot infestation over untreated control plot, respectively. while in case of fruit infestation on number and weight basis, plot treated with Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG 50 ml was also most superior treatment shows lowest fruit damage of number basis and weight basis, respectively. In infestation of Red spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), was also most superior treatment shows lowest Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG, followed by Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG, Spiromesifen 22.90% SC next better treatment were Hexythiazox 05.45% w/w EC, Sulphur 60% + Spiromesifen 3.8% WDG, Sulphur 80% WP and Thiamethoxam 12.6 + Lamda cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC, respectively.
