Abstract

A field experiment entitled “Effect of Nano DAP on growth and yield of finger millet (Eleusine coracana L.)” was carried out at ARS, Dhadesugur during Kharif-2023. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with eight treatments and was replicated thrice. According to the findings, treatment T8 (100% RDF + Foliar spray of Nano DAP @ 4 ml L-1 each at tillering and booting stages) recorded significantly higher growth parameters viz., plant height, number of tillers per plant, total dry matter production plant-1 and yield parameters viz., number of ear heads per hill, 1000 grains weight, grain yield (4116.6 kg ha-1), straw yield (4600.4 kg ha-1) and harvest index which were on par with treatments T7 (100% RDF only) and T6 (75% RD of N and P + 100 % RDK + Foliar spray of nano DAP @ 4 ml L-1 each at tillering and booting stages) and lowest values were obtained in treatment T1 (Absolute control). This approach not only maximizes crop productivity but also proves to be economically feasible by generating higher net returns for farmers. Based on the results it can be concluded that foliar spray of Nano DAP @ 4 ml L-1 each at tillering and booting stages along with RDF application can produce higher crop yield.
