Abstract

It seeks to explore the uses that university students make of news websites, and the satisfactions they achieve through this use.Through an in-depth study of news website usage patterns, preferred categories, and preferred content, research can reveal how these platforms influence students' level of awareness, knowledge, and social interaction. The research will also address the impact of news websites on students' opinion and attitude formulation, and how these platforms influence the pattern of thinking and social behavior. Therefore, the research can highlight the importance of news websites as a tool for learning, communication, and participation in the university community and general society, by applying the field survey approach and questionnaire to a sample of students from media colleges in Iraqi universities. The research found that students prefer to use websites to communicate with their friends and professors, and that they use websites to participate in student activities, and they believe that using websites does not enhance their skill in organizing time management, but rather leads to more wastage of time.
