Efficacy of constitutional and individualized homoeopathic medicine in upper respiratory diseases

Abstract

The upper respiratory tract extends from the nose and nasal cavity to the larynx. Diseases of the upper respiratory tract affect the nose, sinuses, throat and larynx. Upper respiratory tract disease can be defined as spontaneous inflammation and swelling of the upper respiratory tract in patients who have no other medical conditions that can explain the symptoms or a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Homeopathy is an art and science based on individualization. Every person has their own constitution. Without clarity of mind the constitution is not complete. Constitution indicates the health, disease, character, disposition, principles and condition of human being while proving homoeopathic drugs in the healthy individual. The characteristic symptoms are what individualise both the disease and the medicine. If one wishes to cure the patient one must individualise both the case and the remedy. The prescriber's actual work of assembling the case and selecting the remedy is governed throughout by the logical principle of individualisation. Each person develops according to a certain morphological tendency or predisposition inherited in his constitution. His individuality is derived from this tendency. This tendency or predisposition may be pathological. Homeopathy has always fascinated us in every way and if used correctly it is also beneficial for mankind.
