Abstract

Two Asian giants, India and China share a close historical civilization. Both have the same exploitation history by colonial rule and started their modern statehood journey in the mid-20th Century. Since that time, India and China tried to make a friendship relation with each other. However, this paper has critically discussed the brief history of India-China relations and mainly focused on bilateral relations from 1947 to 1962, Nehru’s personal beliefs, understanding for China, and his criticism after India’s defeat in the Indo-China War of 1962.
