Nanotechnology in insect pest management: Advances, challenges, and future perspectives

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(9S) · pp. 20–31

Abstract

Nanotechnology offers innovative approaches for insect pest management by enhancing the effectiveness of control agents while minimizing environmental impact. This review examines the application of various nanomaterials in agriculture, focusing on their mode of action, advantages, and challenges. By integrating nanotechnology into pest control strategies, significant improvements in crop protection and yield are achievable. The paper also discusses the potential of nanotechnology within integrated pest management (IPM) frameworks, addressing both the current advancements and the future directions needed to overcome existing challenges and fully realize its potential.
