Abstract

Pulpectomy is indicated for primary teeth with carious pulp exposures where both the coronal and radicular pulp show clinical signs of hyperemia or pulp necrosis, regardless of caries involvement.Performing a pulpectomy in primary teeth presents unique challenges and can be highly time-consuming, particularly during the canal preparation stage, which is critical to the overall success of root canal therapy.The advent of nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotary files has significantly transformed pediatric endodontics by providing superior operational efficiency and precision.These files, with their unique alloy properties and flexibility, have advanced the standard of canal instrumentation and significantly improved procedural outcomes in pediatric dental care.However, the continuous emergence of new versions of NiTi rotary files complicates the decision-making process for selecting the most appropriate system and technique for individual cases.Each new file system promises improvements, yet they also introduce new variables that must be carefully considered.Practitioners must navigate through a plethora of options, weighing the benefits such as flexibility, cutting efficiency, and durability against potential drawbacks like the risk of file separation or incompatibility with certain canal anatomies.Ultimately, the selection of the appropriate file system should be tailored to the specific clinical scenario, keeping in mind that no single system is universally superior.Practitioners must balance the innovative features of new instruments with their practical experience and the unique needs of their young patients, ensuring that each choice maximizes the likelihood of a successful and efficient pulpectomy.
