Abstract
We reported the synthesis of novel uracil and thiouracil derivatives by multicomponent reaction. The purification of molecules substituted in para position was easier and we obtained higher yields for these molecules. In addition, the yields of thiouracil compounds are higher than those of uracil compounds. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H, 13C NMR and some more by FT-IR spectroscopy or LC-MS spectrometry. Compounds 5b, 5c and 5e underwent tautomerism in the pyrimidine core while compounds 5a, 5d, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d and 6e promoted aromatization of this core.
