Status of ground water development in Western Haryana, India

Abstract

In the last few decades, groundwater has emerged as an important resource for agriculture and food security in India, with Haryana being considerably dependent on its underground reserves. Irrigated area has increased and in Western Haryana, the groundwater extraction has gone upto 132.17 %.
