Toxicity assessment of selected molecules against migratory fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith)
Abstract
A laboratory experiment was conducted for two years from 2022-2023 in division of entomology of SKUAST-Jammu, Chatha, the bioassay was conducted to evaluate the relative toxicity of six selected molecules against third instar larvae of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) which was collected from Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir. During the experiment the emamectin benzoate was found the most toxic with least LC50 value (0.16 ppm). The order of toxicity was emamectin benzoate (0.16 ppm) > Chlorantraniliprole (0.28 ppm)> spinetoram (0.44 ppm) > flubendiamide (1.01 ppm) > cypermethrin (1.09 ppm) and chlorpyriphos (1.42 ppm).
