International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(9) · pp. 766–770

Abstract

The present study was investigated to evaluate the effect of Pseudomonas fluorescens on brown spot (Helminthosporium oryzae) of paddy (Oryza sativa L.). Seven different treatments with three replications of paddy were planted in a randomized block design. At the research plot of the Central Research Field, Department of Plant Pathology, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj during Kharif season of 2023. The minimum per cent disease intensity was recorded in Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 10 ml/ltr (Seedling Dip) + Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 8 ml/ltr (Foliar Spray) (30.79) followed by T4- Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 10 ml/ltr (Seedling Dip) + Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 5 ml/ltr (Foliar Spray) (32.10). Maximum plant height (99.79 cm), number of tillers (25.93), panicle length (22.10 cm), yield (4.96 t/ha) were found in Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 10 ml/ltr (Seedling Dip) + Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 8 ml/ltr (Foliar Spray) and cost benefit ratio (1:2.69) were found in Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 10 ml/ltr (Seedling Dip) + Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 5 ml/ltr (Foliar Spray) when compared to untreated check..
