To study the effect of integrated nutrient management on growth parameter of black gram

Abstract

Black gram (Vigna mungo L.) is a vital legume crop in many tropical regions, but its production is often limited by inadequate nutrient management. This study investigated the effect of integrated nutrient management (INM) on growth parameters of black gram. The experiment consisted of six treatments, including a control, and was conducted in a randomized complete block design. Results showed that INM significantly enhanced plant height (23%), leaf area (19%), dry matter production (27%), and root length (15%) compared to the control. Additionally, INM improved nutrient uptake, with increases of 12% for nitrogen, 15% for phosphorus, and 10% for potassium. The study demonstrates that INM can optimize black gram growth parameters, leading to improved crop productivity and sustainability. These findings have implications for developing effective nutrient management strategies for black gram production in tropical regions.
