Response of nitrogen and phosphorus on growth and quality attributes of gaillardia (Gaillardia pulchella Foug.) cv. local yellow under Jhalawar condition
Abstract
The studies were carried out to study the Response of nitrogen and Phosphorus on growth of Gaillardia (Gaillardia pulchella Foug.) cv. Local Yellow under Jhalawar condition. The experiment consisting 16 treatments combination with two factors i.e. nitrogen with four levels (control, 100 kg ha-1, 200 kg ha-1 and 300 kg ha-1) and phosphorus with four levels (control, 100 kg ha-1, 200 kg ha-1 and 300 kg ha-1) in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. The individual application of nitrogen treatment N3 (N 300 kg ha-1) recorded maximum plant height (66.87 cm), highest (42.64 cm) plant spread, maximum (36.11 cm2) leaf area, highest (450.13 g) plant fresh weight, high (48.45 g) plant dry weight, maximum (3.96 mg/gm) chlorophyll content, maximum (38.18 q/ha) plant biomass, highest (0.19%) plant root-shoot ratio compared to other treatments. The individual application of phosphorus treatment P3 (P 300 kg ha-1) recorded maximum (58.92 cm) plant height, highest (39.40 cm) plant spread, maximum (33.51 cm2) leaf area, highest (439.00 g) plant fresh weight, high (41.25 g) plant dry weight, maximum (3.91 mg/gm) chlorophyll content, maximum (35.41 q/ha) plant biomass, highest (0.18%) plant root-shoot ratio compared to other treatments.
