Personality traits and life satisfaction among postgraduate students at the university of agricultural sciences, GKVK, Bangalore

Abstract

This study examines the personality traits and levels of life satisfaction among 53 postgraduate students at the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK Bangalore. Using the Big-Five Inventory-10 (BFI-10) to evaluate personality traits and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) to gauge life satisfaction, the results indicate that Agreeableness is the most dominant trait, followed by Openness to Experience and Conscientiousness. This suggests that the students are generally cooperative, creative, and disciplined. In contrast, Extraversion and Neuroticism are less pronounced, implying moderate sociability and relatively low emotional instability. The life satisfaction scores reveal that most students are either
