A new digital signature primitive and its application in blockchain
Abstract
We introduce an expander signature, a novel digital signature primitive, and explore its potential blockchain applications in this study. The main selling point of an expander signature is that it allows the signer to personally keep the keys and use a powerful computer to create all signatures simultaneously. Release of the associated expander key occurs whenever the signer requests verification of any of his signatures. Even with a low-powered device, such a personal portable terminal, the signer may complete the task whenever and wherever they want. Both the syntax and the security of expander signature are clearly defined. We provide generalizations of expander signatures based on public key infrastructure and identity-based signature schemes inside our well-defined security architecture. The public key signature schemes that underpin our built expanded signing methods are crucial to their security. There is no way to tell how many times an expander has happened without knowing the size of the keys involved, and the keys themselves do not reveal the signer's secret key. Lastly, we demonstrate the use of an expander signature in a blockchain application.
