Abstract

An experiment entitled “Effects of Gibberellic acid on growth, flowering, yield and quality of tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) varieties under Prayagraj Agro-climatic conditions” was conducted at Horticulture Research Field, Department of Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, SHUATS, Prayagraj, during 2023-2024. The experiment consisted of 30 treatment combinations and replicated thrice in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD). The treatment consisted of different levels of gibberellic acid (0 ppm, 100 ppm and 200 ppm) and different tuberose varieties (BRH 17, BRH 19, Bidhan Ujwal, Mexican single, Arka Sugandhi, Kolkata Double, Hydrabad Double, Phule Rajat, Swarna Rekha, Arka Shringar). Treatment combination T30 (GA3 @ 200 ppm + Arka Shringar) performed significantly better among all treatment combinations in terms of plant height, number of leaves, plant spread, days to first spike initiation, days to first floret opening, days to 50% flowering, rachis length, spike length, number of florets per spike, diameter of basal floret, floret weight, number of bulbs per plant, average bulb weight and bulb yield (t/ha).
