In-vitro efficacy of fungicides against Sclerotium rolfsii caused stem rot of groundnut

Abstract
Stem rot is a devastating fungal disease affecting groundnut crops in India. In vitro experiment was carried out to test efficacy of eight different fungicides by poisoned food technique against Sclerotium rolfsii. Among the fungicides tested, the cent per cent mycelial growth inhibition was observed in Carboxin 37.5% + Thiram 37.5% DS, Tebuconazole 5.4% FS, Hexaconazole 5% SC, Propiconazole 25% EC, Prochloraz 5.7% + Tebuconazole 1.4% ES. Followed by Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP (91.85%), Azoxystrobin 23% EC (68.11%). The minimum growth inhibition was found in Azoxystrobin 2.5% + Thiophanate Methyl 11.25% + Thiomethaoxam 25% FS (42.22%).
