Effect of foliar application of nitrogen through urea and nano urea on biochemical and yield in foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.)

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(9S) · pp. 573–577

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at College of Agriculture Nagpur, during Kharif 2023 in randomized blocked design (RBD) with PDKV Yashshree (BFTM-82) variety of foxtail millet, at Research Farm of Agricultural Botany Section, College of Agriculture Nagpur, with three replications and eight treatments. The results revealed that the best treatments 25 N kg ha-1 + two spray of nano urea @ 4 ml L-1 (T8) applied at tillering and pre-flowering stage was significantly superior in biochemical parameter viz. Total chlorophyll content in flag leaf (1.28 mg g-1) at harvest, Nitrogen content in flag leaf (0.87%) at harvest, Protein content in seed (15.31%) and yield (1421.78 kg ha-1) as compared to control of foxtail millet.
