DUS characterisation of corn (Zea mays L.) cultivars

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(9) · pp. 503–505

Abstract

Using DUS characters selected parents (Z-484-32 and IAMI 23) and their one hybrid (CGASM 1) were characterized through morphological features of the plant and the seed utilizing 31 descriptive characters. Parents and hybrids could be distinguished on the basis of morphological basis of different characters. The keys could be used to define parameters of certification and allow for determining similarities and differences in DUS (Distinctness, uniformity and Stability).
