International Journal of Applied Research · 2024 · Vol. 10(9) · pp. 162–166

Abstract

Efforts should be made to provide strong support to health awareness initiatives aimed at disseminating information about the potential risk factors and the consequences of those cases of hypertension that are not treated appropriately. It is evident from the findings of this study that the recommendations to begin screening for hypertension at the age of forty need to be revised to increase the age to twenty years. National program to treat hypertension and its associated risk factors. It appears that there has been a change in the origin, pathophysiology, and susceptible demographics of hypertension, as can be seen from the fact that the disease is more likely to manifest in younger age groups. In India, the overall prevalence of persons who have hypertension is thirty percent, with thirty-four percent of cases occurring in urban areas and twenty-eight percent occurring in rural areas. When it comes to hypertension, the treatment rate is abysmal, with just 25% of rural Indians and 38% of urban Indians taking medicine to address their condition. In India, just ten percent of hypertensive patients who live in rural regions and five percent of those who live in urban areas have their blood pressure (BP) under control. This is an astoundingly low percentage.
