Physiological characterization of long duration rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes

International Journal of Research in Agronomy · 2024 · Vol. 7(9) · pp. 182–189

Abstract

The Investigation entitled Physiological characterization of long duration rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes on the basis of morpho-phenological, growth and yield parameters was conducted during the kharif season, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 at Research Cum Instructional Farm of the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. 83 rice genotypes were shown in alpha lattice design and 2 replications. Results revealed that genotypes CR4385-183-113, SIET-423 and MTU 1368 had higher yields among all the tested genotypes. Among the morphological traits optimum (Plant height, Leaf area plant-1) seems to be associated with yield. These genotypes possessed lower SLA, optimum SLW. Among the yield attributing traits biological yield plant -1, panicle weight, harvest index was found closely associate with higher biomass and grain yield plant -1.
