Correlation of citrus leaf miner, Phyllocnistis citrella with leaf physio-morphological and biochemical factors in acid lime leaves
Abstract
In order to detect correlation of physio-morphological and biochemical parameters pertaining to twelve test cultivars of acid lime both field and laboratory experiments were conducted. Citrus leaf miner larval population data were collected from the field under the studies occurring on randomly selected plants from each of the cultivars; there after the average was computed. Physio-morphological and biochemical parameters were then correlated with larval population to estimate correlation to the test pest wherein, higher the moisture, nitrogen, potassium and chlorophyll content exhibited positive correlation with larval population; higher trichome density and content of wax, phosphorus and phenol showed negative correlation with larval population.
