Abstract

The present study on “Influence of biostimulants and PGRs on vegetative growth of gaillardia (Gaillardia pulchella) cv. Local” was undertaken at Horticulture Polytechnic, ASPEE College of Horticulture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat, India during the Summer, 2023. The experiment comprised of eleven treatments of biostimulants and PGRs viz., Novel Organic Liquid Nutrients 0.5%, Novel Organic Liquid Nutrients 1%, Cow urine 1%, Cow urine 2%, Vermiwash 1%, Vermiwash 2%, BA 50 ppm, BA 100 ppm, GA3 50 ppm, GA3 100 ppm and control (water spray). The treatments were applied as foliar spray to the plants at 30 and 45 days after transplanting. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications in gaillardia cv. “Local”. The findings showed that, the vegetative characteristics varied depending on different treatments at 60 and 90 DAT. In terms of plant height (53.53 cm and 72.07 cm, respectively), plant spread at N-S direction (48.60 cm and 58.81 cm, respectively) and plant spread at E-W direction (41.48 cm and 52.67 cm, respectively) found significant higher in treatment GA3 @ 100 ppm. Meanwhile, the maximum leaf area (31.91 cm2 and 41.66 cm2, respectively) was obtained with an application of BA @ 100 ppm.
