Antagonistic interactions among haemolymph endosymbionts

International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2024 · Vol. 8(8S) · pp. 1283–1287

Abstract

In an agar well diffusion assay of eight bacterial isolates, Lysinibacillus mangiferihumi (Yang, 2012) inhibited Acinetobacter rhizosphaerae (Brisou & Prévot, 1954) (29.02±1.03) but had minimal effect on Enterococcus mundtii (4.51±0.39). Mammaliicoccus sciuri (Madhaiyan, 2020) strongly inhibited Enterococcus mundtii (24.31±0.39), while Kluyvera ascorbate (Farmer, 1981) showed high activity against Acinetobacter rhizosphaerae (24.31±0.39) and Enterococcus faecium (24.31±1.41), but no effect on Enterobacter bugandensis (Doijad 2016).
