Cyber security challenges in Indian corporates in view of recent AIIMS server hack

Abstract

India has become third largest country in internet usage, after UK & China. This speaks of the volume of the online activities in Indian subcontinent. While online activities allow ease of operations thereby saving time and money, the same is also vulnerable to threat from the unauthorized access. Cyber-attacks are targeted towards stealing confidential data of the organizations. Corporates face severe challenges in implementing cyber security. While all known measures are deployed to mitigate the risk of cyber-attacks, the zero day impact pose complex challenges to corporates. Cyber security challenges comprise of ransom ware, malware, crypto currency attacks etc. The flooded access of social media by people has resulted in social engineering oriented cyber threats. The primary goal of the research paper is to study the cyber security challenges faced by the Indian corporates in view of recent server hacking in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
